Bioretur handles and further processes sludge from land-based and closed fish farming facilities. At the fish farming sites, we have our own installation that treats the sludge from the liquid slurry to dry powder through a dewatering and drying process.

The sludge itself is not exported. We do not engage in waste trafficking or export of a problem. The sludge is used as one of several ingredients in a product that buyers worldwide both need and are willing to pay for. This largely replaces artificial fertilizers, which are also exported from Norway and sold worldwide. An example of this is the agreement with Terramarine, which you can read more about here.
