International sustainability award

The international award is presented to the company in the aquaculture sector that contributes the most to the environment while also being economically and ethically sustainable. It’s a concept often referred to as the triple bottom line.

CEO Steinar Wasmuth was personally present at the award ceremony. “Being recognized as the winner of such a prestigious international sustainability award is beyond our expectations and means a lot to us,” he stated.

“This is not just an acknowledgment of Bioretur, but it sends a significant signal since the industry itself chooses to highlight sustainable utilization of fish sludge as one of the key challenges moving forward. Everyone from feed suppliers and fish farmers to contractors and the transportation sector must now collaborate to ensure favorable conditions for reuse and sustainability. We definitely feel that our customers are taking this seriously,” Wasmuth added.

The winner was selected by an interdisciplinary jury consisting of representatives from the public sector, the aquaculture industry, specialized press, and financial institutions.
